Tea

This area is named the “Caota” by immigrants from hometown of Taoyuan. Caota is a quiet and beautiful marshland in the mountain.

Caota is a tea zone that has excellent conditions to cultivate the good quality tea :

1. From the north to the south of shallow valleys, it formed natural winds. You will feel light breeze, swift winds, quick drying dew, plenty of sunshine and few plant diseases. You also can see the leaves surface keep moist in rainy, and water quality is clear and no polluted.
2. First-class soil : The soil of Caota is the most suitable for planting tea that verified by the Soil and Water Conservation Bureau.
3. A long history and outstanding technology : It has been professionally cultivated with first-class technology since 1920 that consequently had the average of competitions perform high achievements. It is the oldest tea planting area in Yilan County currently.
4. Variety : Oolong tea is the main product. Jinxiang tea and Jadeite are also cultivated in appropriate amounts.
5. Maturity : From April to December. Tea is available in the whole year.
